Overview
Setting up Microsoft Ads (Bing Ads) conversion tracking in HeavySet Tech is a breeze! With just a few simple steps, you'll be able to track leads and appointments from your Microsoft Ads campaigns automatically.
What You'll Need
- Your Microsoft Ads UET Tag ID
- Access to your HeavySet Tech CRM Configuration settings
Step 1: Get Your Microsoft Ads UET Tag ID
- Log into your Microsoft Advertising account
- Navigate to Conversion tracking in the left menu
- Click on UET tags
- Find your UET tag and copy the Tag ID (it will look something like
187129818)
Step 2: Access Your HeavySet Tech CRM Configuration
- Log into your HeavySet Tech account
- Navigate to Settings → CRM → Edit CRM Configuration
- Select your organization from the dropdown (if applicable)
- Select the CRM configuration you want to add Microsoft tracking to
Step 3: Open Microsoft Settings
- Scroll down to the Secondary Integration Settings section
- Look for the Microsoft logo button (it's a square orange button with the Microsoft icon)
- Click the Microsoft settings button
Step 4: Enter Your UET Tag ID
- In the Microsoft Settings dialog that appears, paste your UET Tag ID in the field
- Click Okay
Step 5: Save Your Configuration
- Click the Save button at the bottom of the page to save your CRM configuration
- That's it! Your Microsoft Ads tracking is now active
Step 6: Create a Conversion Goal in Microsoft Advertising
Important: Installing the UET Tag ID in HeavySet Tech is only half the setup. You also need to create a matching conversion goal in Microsoft Advertising.
Creating the Conversion Goal
- Log into your Microsoft Advertising account
- Click Conversion tracking in the left menu
- Click Conversion goals
- Click + Create and select Event as the goal type
- Configure your conversion goal with these settings:
- Goal name:
HeavySet Lead Submission(or your preferred name) - Category: Lead
- UET tag: Select your UET tag from the dropdown
- Event action:
submit - Event category:
Lead - Event label: Leave blank
- Event value: Leave blank (or set a value if you track lead value)
- Revenue value: Enter your average lead value (optional)
- Count: Select "Each" to count every lead submission
- Goal name:
- Click Save
Verify Your Setup
After creating the goal:
- Click on UET tag in the left menu
- Click on your UET tag
- Scroll to UET tag tracking status
- You should see "Tag active" and your conversion goal listed
Testing Your Conversion Tracking
- Add
?msclkid=testto your appointment page URL - Submit a test lead form
- Return to Microsoft Advertising → Conversion tracking → Conversion goals
- Click on your conversion goal
- Check the Recent conversions section (may take a few hours to appear)
How It Works
Once configured, HeavySet Tech will automatically:
- ✅ Detect when visitors come from Microsoft Ads (via
msclkidparameter or utm tracking) - ✅ Load the Microsoft UET tracking script on your appointment pages
- ✅ Send conversion events when leads submit forms
- ✅ Send conversion events when appointments are scheduled
- ✅ Prevent duplicate conversion tracking
Tracked Conversions
HeavySet Tech tracks the following events:
- Lead Submissions - When a visitor submits a lead form
- Appointment Submissions - When a visitor books an appointment
Both events include enhanced conversion data (email and phone number) for better tracking accuracy.
Troubleshooting
My conversions aren't showing up in Microsoft Ads
- Verify your UET Tag ID is correct
- Make sure your Microsoft Ads campaigns are using tracking parameters (
msclkidis automatically added) - Check that your UET tag is approved in Microsoft Advertising
- Allow 24-48 hours for conversions to appear in reporting
How do I know if it's working?
- Visit your appointment page with
?msclkid=testadded to the URL - Submit a test lead
- Check your browser's developer console for any errors
- Verify the conversion appears in Microsoft Ads within 24-48 hours
